Ah yes, Inception. This movie has been the source of many of meme’s at Comixed , a user generated comic strip type of site run by The Cheezburger Network. The movie’s biggest star is Leonardo DiCaprio, who made his break through in acting in the 1997 movie “Titanic.” To me, the movie is hard to follow, so I usually get a headache about 1/2 through and never finish the movie. I have heard a-lot of good things about the movie, but its just not my cup of tea. This has got to be the EASIEST project that The CineTrains Project has ever taken on. You will figure it out in just a moment.
The train in Inception is not really a train at all! You are going to get a laugh at this, but the train in the street is none other than a heavily modified Peterbilt 375 made to look like an EMD GP35! Just look at the video below! (Video shooter has no idea what they are doing)
However, the Train Suicide scene is a more interesting research project. The locomotive used in that shot is Fillmore and Western Railroad GP35 #3502 (Serial #30353). The locomotive was built in February of 1962 as Pennsylvania Railroad GP35 #2339. During the 1st 25 years of her life, she carried the same number, but different owners. First was the Pennsylvania Railroad, then for 7 years, it was Penn Central, and finally she traded in her black PRR/PC paint for a nice shiny coat of Sparkling Blue paint of Conrail. When Conrail purged their roster of the GP35 model in the late 1980s, and in 1995, she was finally sold to the Arizona and California Railroad. She became AZRC 3502. In 2001, the locomotive was transferred to sister Railroad California Northern. She did not last long at the California Northern, as in 2003, the locomotive was sold to the Fillmore and Western Railroad.

That’s all for today! I hope you enjoyed this post of “Inception.” I know I have slacked off the past couple of days, but I am back to posting a new blog every day. As always, if you have a new project you would like me to research, feel free to contact me at anytime! You can find the information about submitting ideas in the “Submitting Ideas” section. Again, HAPPY RAILFANNING!
